James studied Land Economy at Cambridge University and started his career at Grosvenor, working on the London Estate. Subsequently he moved to DWS in 2011 to work within the UK & Ireland Transactions Team where he has worked since. Whilst at DWS, James has worked across multiple sectors and locations, successfully completing in excess of £3 billion worth of transactions. Whilst James' experience is not sector specific he did somewhat specialise, undertaking a number of high profile and large lot size transactions in the Central London Office market. Most recently James has led DWS' effort to grow their exposure to the Purpose Built Student Accommodation sector, resulting in the acquisition of circa 5,000 beds during 2019 including the Vita Portoflio. He is now coordinating DWS' drive to expand their exposure to the sector across Europe, with a particular focus on the Italian market.
